Forest Hills golf course was originally designed in 1990 by Adrian Stiff, a well-respected course architect who was able to design a Par 68 course bringing all the natural land features into play. In 1998 further land was acquired and the internationally known course designer Brian Grifiths was commissioned to create 5 new holes bringing the golf course up to a Par 72 and championship length of 6387 yards.
Part of this design included a new coarse fishing lake on the site of a former medieval lake, which had long since disappeared. The golf course is renowned for its outstandingly good drainage allowing play to continue 12 months of the year using permanent greens and tees. This is one of the only courses in Gloucestershire that can truly boast about its great draining abilities allowing quality golf to be played all year round.

Dress Code: We do have a ‘smart casual’ dress code on the Course: A Polo shirt and trousers or shorts are fine. but not a T-shirt, track suit bottoms or jeans. For your own safety we strongly advise golf shoes. Please note the pro shop staff may refuse access to the Course to anyone who is wearing inappropriate clothing or footwear. If you are not sure, it’s a good idea to ring and ask before you come along.
